For 2024, we have a goal set up that we will have at least one female candidate in every recruitment process. This is especially important for engineering positions, since female candidates can be difficult to find and attract. Various actions are taken to make the employer brand more attractive for female candidates.
Codemill is having a referral bonus program for employees who finds matching candidates for open positions. To encourage the employees to go the extra mile if needed and find matching female candidates, the referral bonus for female candidates is doubled.
We have an Equality Policy that states the following:
“At Codemill, everyone should feel welcome, included and treated equally. We welcome diversity and strive towards a gender balanced staff. We treat everyone with respect regardless of sex, gender identity or expression, ethnicity, religion or other belief, disability, sexual orientation and age.”
We also want to make a clear statement against sexual harassments, which is communicated through a separate policy. We make surveys every year to make sure that sexual harassment does not occur in the workplace.
At Codemill, there is an internal network in the form of a Slack channel for all women and non-binary employees in the workplace. This network is a place to inspire and get inspired, to attend fun activities and to have a safe space to talk about challenges that you can face as a woman/non-binary in the tech industry.
Codemill has a long history of collaborating with the academia and we have hosted Master Thesis projects for several years. Starting in 2023, we began focusing our efforts and events for students towards female and non-binary students. This led to two study visits in 2023 and one upcoming event for female students and young professionals coming up this spring.
According to Swedish labor law, every company need to make sure that the salaries are equal for men and women who are doing similar or equal work. This process was improved during 2023 to make sure that Codemill does not offer unfair salaries based on gender.
