I am really excited to announce that we are in the process of acquiring Cantemo AB, developers of Cantemo Portal™ next generation Media Asset Management (MAM) software. It comes at a pivotal moment for Codemill while we are gearing up for the Initial Public Offering (IPO) of Codemill onto Nasdaq First North Growth Market, planned for mid-June.
We started Codemill back in 2008 to deliver professional services, enabling our customers to develop seamless media production workflows. Media Asset Management always features highly in any media workflow, so it is not surprising that we began working with Cantemo very early on. Through a number of joint client projects, it very quickly became apparent that Cantemo Portal is a great product that is meeting an important need in the industry – to manage media in a flexible and scalable way.
Over the years, we have used our knowledge and experience to create our own product suite, delivering workflow-ready interfaces for QC, Validation, Poster creation and more. Constant development coupled with integration with other tools has been integral to those, enabling our customers to create seamless media workflows. Naturally MAM solutions are a big part of that, and Cantemo Portal is highly complementary to Accurate.Video and Accurate Player SDK.
Cantemo Portal offers extensive out-of-the-box Media Asset Management (MAM) functionality, combined with powerful REST APIs for advanced customisation. The Accurate.Video suite is focussed on specific tasks within the Content Supply Chain, such as media QA and QC, VOD poster generation and web browser-based video editing. The Accurate Player SDK consists of best-in-class software building blocks that, when combined together, provide a powerful suite of tools for end-to-end cloud media workflows. Individually, there is little product overlap. But when combined, they offer our customers powerful end-to-end workflow solutions.
These products already work together for some joint customers. One of our main focus areas following this acquisition will be to work on tighter integration, providing a more elegant user experience and more choice. At the same time, customers can of course continue to use both the Accurate.Video and Cantemo Portal products independently of each other. And the development doesn’t stop there. We already have an extensive product roadmap for our existing product suite. Now we will also be accelerating development for Cantemo Portal, including building integrations with other parts of the media supply chain.
I truly believe that this acquisition will be really beneficial for customers, technical partners, and channel partners of both companies. We are taking all that is great about Cantemo but will be accelerating development to make it even better, while continuing to work closely with all partners. The result will be access to all of those products, with much tighter integrations when they are needed. I’m really pleased that we will have the benefit of experience of the Cantemo CTO, Martin Fellbrink, who will remain as CTO, along with the Cantemo product development team. I am looking forward to this next chapter, both for Codemill and Cantemo!
