We would like to introduce you to our new Deputy CEO, Patrik Jonsson, and our new CFO, Karin Bergner.

We sat with them and asked them a few questions to get acquainted with their background and their new roles at Codemill.

Patrik Jonsson

Just recently you joined Codemill as the new Deputy Chief Executive Officer. For our partners and clients to get acquainted with you, could you please tell a bit more about yourself and your background?

━ I am 52 years old living in Umeå, together with my family and kids. I have a Master's degree in Computer Science and have previously worked in a lot of various positions such as Product Development, Product Services as well as Sales. My experience comes mainly from larger companies like TietoEvry and Ericsson.

What motivated you to join Codemill after spending so many years working in large companies?

━ I have during a period felt that it would be very stimulating to work in a smaller local company where everyone knows each other and where it is possible to understand the business as well as the complete product portfolio. When this opportunity came up it felt like a perfect match from my side.

What do you think you can add to Codemill in your new role as Deputy CEO?

━ As Deputy CEO I have the operational responsibility within the company and I believe I can apply the experience and knowledge I gained at Ericsson and TietoEvry, to support Codemill's journey to becoming more of a product company.

What is your first reflection from your first days at Codemill?

━ First of all, I am even more thrilled now when I have been at the company for several weeks and have seen the deep and broad competence that exists within the company and all the great people that work here.

“I am really glad and excited to be part of the journey that Codemill has started and I also look forward to the challenges that this journey will bring to us going forward”

Karin Bergner

Can you tell us a bit about yourself and your background?

━ I am 43 years old and I have a Master's Degree of Science in Business and Economics. I have worked at several companies before like Ernst & Young and SCA. I most recently came from a role as CFO at Algoryx so I have experience in business with product development and professional services.

What attracts you to work at Codemill?

━ I think Codemill is in an exciting expansive phase and I am really glad to be a part of that. I think I can contribute with my experience and knowledge. And I like the fact that we can have the headquarters in Umeå with offices around the world.

“I’m really excited to be part of Codemill and joining a strong management team where I can contribute my experience and knowledge. It is an exciting time!”

Welcome to Codemill, Patrik and Karin.

At Codemill, as with any other Swedish workplace, we love our fika (coffee break), team stand-ups, our whiteboards and post-its when we are brainstorming and trying to come up with solutions or ideas. Sure, we have embraced a host of tools and services to make our workplace collaboration easier and accessible from anywhere. However, it is my experience that many of these tools with a few exceptions were always used asynchronously. Earlier this week we got a chance to test some of these tools and a few new ones.
